Police from the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica are looking for a gunman who allegedly fired a shot at a 19-year-old male victim shortly after the two men were engaged in a verbal dispute in Hollis during the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 20.

The teenager and the unidentified man got into an argument in front of a convenience store at 190-10 99th Ave., across from the Long Island Rail Road tracks in Hollis, just after 4 p.m.

The stranger stormed off but returned to the location a short while later, pulled out a firearm and discharged a round, striking a window of the corner storefront, police said. The gunman fled the scene in an unknown direction and there were no injuries reported.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect, who has a dark complexion and wore a black vest over a yellow hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored cargo pants.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment. Anyone with information regarding this reckless endangerment investigation is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging on to the Crime Stoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are strictly confidential.

Through Oct. 18, the 103rd Precinct has reported ten shooting incidents so far in 2026, two more than the eight reported at the same point last year, an increase of 25%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
