Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights are looking for a suspect who is wanted in connection with a gunpoint robbery of a young woman during the early morning of Saturday, Oct. 3.
The 21-year-old victim was in the vicinity of 35th Avenue and 92nd Street in Jackson Heights just before 1:30 a.m. when a stranger approached her from behind. The perpetrator allegedly displayed a firearm and forcibly removed jewelry valued at approximately $2,800 from the victim, police said. The suspect fled on foot northbound on 92nd Street toward Northern Boulevard. The woman was not injured during the armed robbery.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Tuesday and asked for the public’s help in identifying him. He has a light complexion with black hair and was last seen wearing a denim jacket over a black T-shirt, blue jeans, white and black sneakers and a blue baseball cap.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging on to the Crime Stoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are strictly confidential.
Through Oct. 18, the 115th Precinct has reported 239 robberies so far in 2026, 20 fewer than the 259 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 7.7%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
